Building Lifelong Connections.

Where mentorship meets purpose—and healthcare careers begin.

What Does NGH Do?

The NGH program runs from September through April. Through our program, high school students are paired with experienced undergraduate mentors from the University of Pittsburgh. Over the course of the program, mentors and mentees build meaningful relationships as mentors provide guidance on college applications, healthcare career exploration, and discovering new healthcare related opportunities. In addition to one-on-one mentoring, we host a variety of events, including professional development workshops, hands-on activities, and field trips. High school students in the program have the chance to win a scholarship at the end.

Scholarship

Meriem participated in ASPIRE's EQT program, where she was awarded a $10,000 scholarship in recognition of her active engagement and a strong scholarship application. That financial support played a significant role in her undergraduate journey. Inspired by the impact of that experience, she wanted to ensure that NGH could offer similar support to its students. As a result, the NGH scholarship was created to recognize participants who demonstrate consistent engagement in the program and submit a compelling scholarship essay.
